In ten years, Canadian exports to Africa have almost tripled in volume of sales, going from a billion dollars in 1999 to over $ 3 billion in 2008. As to imports of African goods, they grew even more: in 2008, they totalled more than $ 13 billion.
In parallel to trade, the country of the maple leaf is developing multiple development partnerships with African countries. The goal: to strengthen good governance and respect for human rights and prevent conflicts over natural resources.
